ABOUT US

Hello, we are Eric and Sylvia Hawkins. As of 2023, we have been married for 30 years, and have three children. We’ve been frequent visitors of the Eastern Shore Cape Charles for over 25 years, and now that we’ve retired from our previous careers, we’re here to stay. We love it on the shore!

We have been living the tiny lifestyle for over 14 years now, and we love it. For a time, we decided to dedicate ourselves to full-time RV travel and living. Because of this we’ve become experts on everything “Tiny Living.”

In 2017, we were introduced to Airbnb and the idea of short term rentals, and decided to take our travel and business to the next level. We opened 19 Airbnb listings and gained a ton of valuable experience before turning our attention to the eastern shore of Virginia. We literally reinvented ourselves!

We traveled full-time and ran the company from our RV. It was a powerful and difficult experience, but we were able to push ourselves to do things we hadn’t done before. The adventures were plentiful. While we’ve slowed down on the travel, we’ve maintained our efforts to create the perfect tiny home getaway for everyone. We hope you enjoy Tiny Livin’ like we have.

We had always had dreams of owning our own tiny house village. Little did we know that the gem of a property we now own would be found in a place my wife and children had frequently visited for 20 years—the eastern shore of Cape Charles.

On one of our visits to the Eastern Shore, instead of turning left into historic Cape Charles, we turned right. When we saw the property before our eyes, we almost stopped in the street. We saw 10 overgrown tiny houses surrounded by bushes, trees, and…trash. Trees grew through the decks, and it looked like the place was abandoned to Mother Nature.

We saw this as God’s answer to our prayers and dreams. After much digging and persistence, we were able to talk with the property owner’s granddaughter. Through her our prayers continued to be answered, as we got to know the history of the property, see old pictures from when it was originally built, and listened to stories to connect with the tiny village even better. This act of kindness was instrumental in the direction we took when designing certain aspects of the property.
